Registration Now Open for Inaugural COLEGAS Conference: Pa’delante Juntos Podemo
The inaugural annual COLEGAS Conference, Pa'delante Juntos Podemos (Together We Move Forward), will be held Nov. 3-4, 2022, in Long Beach and will focus on providing a Latina/o/x affirming space for California community college professionals to build community, share emerging practices and exchange resources in the service of Latina/o/x students and their communities. This year's theme calls on us to build solidarity as a collective through group learning, critical consciousness and shared agency to ensure that Latina/o/x people can thrive in higher education.
Conference organizers encourage practitioners and faculty in the California Community Colleges, system partners, researchers and community members to submit proposals on one of the conference topic goals:
- COVID & Racial Reckoning: What have colleges done differently to support students, their success and completion? What does outreach, community engagement and partnership look like in this era?
- Latina/o/x Affirming Promising Policies & Practices
- Racial Learning & Literacy and Cross-Racial/Ethnic Engagement
- Servingness: Beyond Hispanic Enrolling to truly Serving our Latina/o/x Students
- Culturally Responsive Teaching & Learning
