STUDENT CENTERED FUNDING FORMULA DASHBOARD HIGHLIGHTS PROGRESS TOWARD REDUCING EQUITY GAPS

Improved functionality to the Student Centered Funding Formula Dashboard (SCFF Dashboard) released today provides an analysis of the race and ethnicity of student enrollments and student successful outcomes.

Specifically, this latest upgrade adds information about the race and ethnicity of students within the supplemental and student success allocations of the SCFF.  By providing a breakdown of enrollment and outcome counts by race and ethnicity, college leaders can see how the system and each district is making progress toward the Vision for Success goal of reducing equity gaps.

The new feature advances the Chancellor’s Office commitment to leveraging data to inform decision-making. The data highlights progress districts are making in closing equity gaps in completion for both workforce and transfer-bound students, a key goal of the Vision and a priority for the Governor in his recently released state budget proposal.  For example, the SCFF Dashboard illustrates a 33% statewide increase in ADTs completions since 2017-18 for all race/ethnicity groups with African American and Hispanic/Latinx populations having the highest percent increases (35% and 40.5% respectively). Data available on the SCFF Dashboard also suggests that students with access to financial aid are better able to achieve successful outcomes.

The Dashboard enables leaders to gain a better understanding of student groups who may need additional support along their educational journey – an important step in developing targeted local strategies. Examining this data over time allows colleges to take action and advance equitable student success.
