Chancellor’s Office Webinars Kick-Off Again in Early January

The Chancellor’s Office biweekly systemwide webinars, aimed at helping faculty, staff and administrators better support the Vision for Success, will kick-off again on Wednesday, January 13 from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.

Please register for the 2021 System Webinars through the link below. If you attended the 2020 System Webinars, your existing webinar link will not be able to access the 2021 System Webinars.

Registration is only required once and the same link will be used to access all system webinars in 2021.

The recording and slides from the December 16, 2020 System Webinar, Building Resilience & Protecting Progress: The Hard Work of Cultivating Cultural Change for Equitable Student Success have been uploaded to the Vision Resource Center and can be accessed by following the steps below:

Log in to the Vision Resource Center. After logging-in, under the “Communities” menu, visit “All Communities” and look for “CCC | Webinars, Conferences, and Events”. Join this community, then access the “Chancellor’s Office System Webinars” topic to view the content.

System Guidance/News

Deputy Chancellor Dr. Daisy Gonzales and Academic Senate for California Community College President Dolores Davison this week released a memo on Local Use of a Functioning Equivalency Process. The memo can be found on the Chancellor’s Office Diversity, Equity and Inclusion page.


Vice Chancellor for College Finance and Facilities Lizette Navarette this week released a guidance memo on Attendance Accounting for Noncredit Courses and Exception Related to Distance Education Lab Courses. We encourage administrators, faculty, staff and students to regularly check the Chancellor’s Office COVID-19 resource page and the Chancellor’s Office Communications to Colleges section for ongoing executive orders, guidance memos and announcements.

Faculty can ask questions, share promising practices and resources, and provide feedback and input for ongoing systemwide efforts. The Chancellor’s Office Government Relations & College Finance and Facilities Planning divisions are launching monthly systemwide Policy Advocacy Webinars to provide timely updates on major policy decisions affecting the California Community Colleges, including state and federal legislative and budget actions. These webinars are intended for community college leaders who lead and/or support policy advocacy, including CEOs, chief business officers, marketing directors and/or government relations and public information officers, as well as student leaders, policy advocacy organizations and higher education stakeholders. The next webinar is Friday, January 15 at 10:00 a.m. Register.

Online Instruction/Webinars

Join the American Council on Education (ACE), Palomar College, and Saddleback College’s V-CAT Innovation Award for a California exclusive, virtual summit designed to inspire your strategies for Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) integration and campus-wide support. Sessions will focus on CPL as an equity imperative, and hands-on tactics for successful implementation. The summit is February 26 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. More Summit information.
