March 2, 2023 - Vision in Action No. 107
It is critical to ensure that science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses are accessible to students with disabilities. STEM courses pose unique challenges for designing accessible materials, but a new webinar can help!
Using a "Teach Access" grant, Professor Kelly Spoon created accessible modules on data visualization to use in her statistics course. While creating those modules, a lightbulb went off—every math instructor should have the tools and know-how to create accessible materials! Join Kelly and our panel for a discussion on using Canvas built-in accessibility options, Desmos, PreTeXt, and other tools to improve accessibility in math courses.
This session will take place on March 3 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. It will include captioning via Zoom's Live Transcript tool; if you require additional accommodations, please contact support@cvc.edu as soon as possible to help us meet your needs. Register here.
