CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY COLLEGES AND CLIMATE: DEFINING THE POSSIBLE
The California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office, Foundation for California Community Colleges, and California Center for Climate Change Education at West Los Angeles College warmly invite you to join us for a gathering aimed at exploring and defining priorities for the statewide community college network in climate change mitigation, adaptation and resilience.
The California Center for Climate Change Education is proud to host the first in a series of events to be held across the state on the roles of California Community Colleges in building resilience to climate change. During the meeting, state leaders and community college peers will explore and seek feedback on priorities in four fields of climate practice for the California Community Colleges: facilities and operations, workforce development, community engagement, and resource development. Once elaborated and refined through dialog across our campuses, these preliminary areas of focus will guide statewide efforts in climate in the coming years.
California Community Colleges Chancellor Sonya Christian, Los Angeles Community College District Chancellor Francisco Rodriguez and West Los Angeles College President James Limbaugh will speak at the event.
The event is Tuesday, June 27 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the West Los Angeles College Fine Arts Auditorium in Culver City. Please register by Friday, June 16.
