Investing in California's Workforce
California Community Colleges are prioritizing industry sectors based on regional opportunities for high-growth, high-wage careers. The Chancellor’s Office is investing in colleges to expand and enhance proven workforce training models and support systems that focus on equity, access and inclusion, and deeper participation by employers.
Through the Chancellor’s Office investments, colleges will collaborate together in eight distinct regions across the state to establish or expand capacities to:
- Develop Learn and Earn training programs
- Provide comprehensive supports in partnership with community-based organizations
- Systemize credit for prior learning
- Teach resilient 21st century digital skills and literacy
- Establish regional investments informed by data
