SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California Community Colleges Chancellor Sonya Christian today released the following statement on the passing of Sen. Dianne Feinstein:

“Sen. Feinstein was a towering force for good for California and our nation. Her ability to break glass ceilings inspired countless women, and she demonstrated skill and compassion as she led her city. She was a fierce and accomplished advocate in the U.S. Senate, fighting for justice and equality at every turn. She was committed to the inherent power that education has to transform lives, and she was always a supporter of the California Community Colleges and our students. She will be remembered and missed, and we are inspired to carry on her values.”
