The Institutional Effectiveness Partnership Initiative (IEPI) provides technical assistance through its Partnership Resource Teams. This “colleagues helping colleagues” model is available to colleges, districts, and centers interested in getting support on issues that matter most to them.
A key feature of IEPI is that it draws on the expertise and innovation from within the community college system to advance effective practices and avoid potential pitfalls.
Components of IEPI include:
- Make technical assistance teams, Partnership Resource Teams (PRTs), available to institutions seeking assistance.
Any California community college, district, or center (client institution) is eligible to receive technical assistance and upon completion of the PRT Process, a seed grant awards up to $250,000 for a full-PRT and $100,000 for a mini-PRT and to assist with any Areas of Focus (AOF).
The PRT Process
- A Letter of Interest is submitted by the institution’s CEO.
- IEPI Project Director meets with institution’s CEO to discuss Area of Focus.
- PRT members from a pool of volunteer experts are assigned to the institution. (Volunteers are identified through or appointed by statewide professional organizations, the Chancellor’s Office, and others.)
- PRT rosters are approved by the institution’s CEO and the IEPI Coordinating Group.
- Three PRT visits are hosted at the college or district with the first two visits held in one semester/quarter and the third visit conducted the following term.
- The PRT helps the college or district team develop an Innovation and Effectiveness Plan (I&EP) that addresses the specified Areas of Focus.
- One-year IEPI grants of up to $250,000 for a full-PRT and $100,000 for a mini-PRT are available to institutions that submit an I&EP following the third PRT visit.
- The entire PRT Process typically takes one academic year.
