Charter

The Assessment Advisory Committee conducts the review of assessment instruments submitted by colleges and test publishers for Chancellor’s Office approval. The committee works with the Chancellor’s Office and psychometric consultants for the Chancellor’s Office, who conduct the psychometric review of assessment instruments and provide other technical expertise as required. The committee then advises the Chancellor’s Office on assessments presented for approval and provides recommendations regarding those approvals.

The Disproportionate Impact Calculator for ESL Course Placement (DIC-ESL) is designed for situations where the outcome variable has more than two categories (polytomous outcomes). Specifically, it addresses the unique challenge of evaluating the disproportionate impact (DI) of ESL course placement recommendations on various cultural and linguistic subgroups.

California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office Assessment Training for Local Colleges

The Chancellor’s Office has partnered with Buros Center for Testing (expert assessment instrument consultants) to curate pre-recorded training videos aimed at providing technical assistance to colleges and second-party testing publishers in the development of ESL assessment instruments that are submitted to the Chancellor’s Office approval.
