On Friday, Oct. 7, the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office will join California Volunteers and thousands of college students from across the state to celebrate the first ever #CaliforniansForAll College Corps Fellows. These 3,000 students will earn $10,000 for serving their communities this academic year. This new service initiative helps students graduate college on time and with less debt.
The event will feature Gov. Gavin Newsom, student speakers, entertainment and music - culminating in students from the University of California, California State University, California Community Colleges and private colleges being sworn in as the first ever College Corps Fellows. These students are dedicating the next academic year to tackling the biggest issues facing our state, by working in their communities to tutor and mentor low-income students, distribute meals to those facing food insecurity and take on climate action and forest management across California.
Join the celebration and tune in on Friday, Oct. 7 at 12:00 p.m.
