Sacramento, Calif. – California Community Colleges Chancellor Eloy Ortiz Oakley issued the following statement on the 2020 presidential election outcome:
“On behalf of the California Community Colleges, I congratulate Joe Biden on his projected victory in the presidential election. Voters have elected a president who will represent all Americans and who understands and values public education. President-elect Biden is a proven leader who knows the essential role that our nation’s community colleges play in our democracy, our economy and the American Dream. We are committed to working with the president-elect, his transition team and his administration to move our students and our country forward together.”
The California Community Colleges is the largest system of higher education in the nation, composed of 73 districts and 116 colleges serving 2.1 million students per year.
