SACRAMENTO, Calif. — California Community Colleges Chancellor Eloy Ortiz Oakley issued the following statement on the Trump administration’s decision to rescind a rule that would have required international students to transfer or leave the country if their schools held classes entirely online because of the COVID-19 pandemic:
“We are pleased to see the change in direction that ICE announced. We remain cautious about the intentions of ICE and the Trump administration as it relates to international students, and we will continue to pursue further clarification and protections for all of our students.”
