Common Course Numbering Project

The Common Course Numbering (CCN) initiative is a legislative effort aimed at improving credit mobility, transferability, and articulation within California’s higher education system. It creates a student-facing system that ensures course equivalencies across institutions. With CCN, the same course – like Introduction to Psychology – will carry the same number at every California community college, making transfer smoother and credit more portable.
