The Legislature convened for the first year of the 2025-26 Legislative Session on December 2, 2024. This page will be updated in real-time as the Government Relations Division reviews and analyzes legislation for potential impact to the California Community Colleges. The last day for the Assembly and Senate to introduce new bills is February 21, 2025. Upcoming legislative deadlines can be found on the California State Assembly and California State Senate websites.

Tier 1: Bills that have a direct effect on the California Community Colleges, students, faculty, staff, and/or Chancellor's Office.
Tier 2: Bills that have an effect on state or local agency operations (Chancellor's Office generally does not take positions).
Tier 3:  Bills that have an effect on educational partners, including the UC, CSU, CSAC, K-12, etc. (Chancellor's Office generally does not take positions).
Tier 4: Budget or budget trailer bills.
Tier 5: Placeholder or spot bills.
