Sacramento, Calif. – The California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office has announced the appointment of Wrenna Finche as assistant vice chancellor for college of finance and facilities planning.
“I am pleased to welcome Wrenna into this role,” said Chancellor Eloy Ortiz Oakley. “Through her leadership over the years, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to improving the outcomes of students and a steady hand in serving our colleges. I am confident her leadership will continue to move our system forward in our persistent efforts to best support the 2.1 million students entrusting us to help them attain their higher education goals.”
Finche will oversee the college of finance and facilities planning division’s operations in support of promoting district fiscal health and aligning budget policy with the Vision for Success. Before stepping into the role, she served as the director of fiscal standards and accountability since 2017 and was responsible for district financial reporting, fiscal health monitoring, annual audits, attendance accounting and residency, compliance reporting, numerous student and faculty programs and compliance requirements, and agency accountability and risk management activities. Before joining the Chancellor’s Office, she served as a government auditor with the California Department of Finance.
Finche, a certified public accountant, earned a bachelor’s degree in history from University of Wisconsin—Madison and a master’s degree in business administration, with an emphasis in management information systems, from Chico State University. She also attended Butte Community College, where she gained a deep appreciation for the role the community college system plays in higher education.
