During the Fifth Annual Undocumented Student Action Week, the Chancellor’s Office held daily system webinars on critical policy frameworks and tools designed to support institutions with successful implementation of recent undocumented student policy reforms. In collaboration with the Chancellor's Office and many other planning partners, Immigrants Rising also organized the 20 Year Anniversary AB 540 Conference to celebrate collective successes, highlight promising practices, and provide clear steps to expand equitable access. This special conversation featuring Acting Chancellor Dr. Daisy Gonzales, Chancellor Dr. Joseph I. Castro, President Dr. Michael V. Drake, and President Kristen Soares highlighted systemwide efforts to support AB 540 students and discuss shared commitments to continue addressing challenges that remain in order to support the success of all of our undocumented students. |

We shared a brief introduction to the state policies that provide these funds (SEAP, AB 1645) and reminded our audience of the purpose of these policies. Then we shared examples of colleges that are using the dollars to meet the intent and spirit of those policies. |
