DSPS (Disabled Student Programs and Services)

Disabled Student Programs and Services (DSPS) is all about equity and making sure any student can reach his or her full potential. DSPS assists students with disabilities so they have equal access to all programs and activities on campus.

Disabled Student Programs and Services provides support services to students with physical disabilities, learning disabilities, psychological disabilities, developmental delay, brain injury, visual impairments, health problems and hearing impairments.

Services

Among the array of services offered are priority registration, specialized counseling, class scheduling, mobility assistance, test proctoring, specialized tutoring, transcription services, interpreter services for hearing impaired or deaf students, and more.

Eligibility

A specific disability must be verified and there must be an educational limitation that keeps a student from fully participating in general education without additional specialized services.

Next Steps

Contact your college’s DSPS office and schedule an intake appointment with a DSPS counselor to complete the necessary paperwork, review disability documentation, and discuss services and accommodations that can address identified needs.
