Search for California Community Colleges Chancellor 2022

The Board of Governors has embarked on a nationwide search for a new Chancellor to lead the California Community Colleges, the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the United States. The Board has identified a search committee of the Board to lead this search, and has selected Academic Search as the executive search firm.

  • July 25, 2022 - Announcement of Nationwide Search
  • July 28, 2022 - Release of Request for Proposals for Executive Search Firm
  • September 10, 2022 - Academic Search Selected to conduct chancellor search
  • September 12, 2022 - First Meeting of the Board of Governors Chancellor Search Committee. The agenda and recorded video are available to review.

  • January 6-7, 2023 - Search Committee Meeting (Semi-Finalist Interviews, Closed Session)
  • January 26-27, 2023 - Board of Governors Meeting (Finalist Interviews, Closed Session)
  • February 23, 2023 - Board of Governors meets to appoint the Chancellor
