Decisions about the California Community College System are being made with data collected through the System Office MIS system. Quality data is needed to substantiate the many questions asked about our system by legislators, researchers, and other outside parties.
Districts/Colleges are responsible for reviewing/verifying data quality. The Program Support Unit provides a number of reports and data files to assist with validating that the data accurately represent the activity at the district.
The Data Quality Assistance Team (DQAT) reviews data quality in areas not currently covered by the existing reports and data files listed above. Frequently the data anomalies are discovered when preparing data for an internal or external requests.
While the DQAT team is available for assistance the District/College retains ownership and responsibility for the quality and content of the data.
